London Women's Clinic doctor defends IVF for over-50s

Dr Kamal Ahuja works at the London Women's Clinic, which has offered IVF to Susan Tollefsen, 59. It previously had an age limit of 50.
Dr Ahuja said the U-turn had been prompted by the fact that women can now store their embryos until they are 55. He also confirmed the clinic was in advanced discussions with a 57-year-old woman.
Dr Ahuja told the Standard: “Our clinic policy has been 50 and under but now we would say that we would talk to older patients. In the past I've cast doubt about IVF for older mothers, but you have to look at how long we now live.
