Fast-talking salesmen promising guaranteed success with a free holiday in Vegas thrown in - and desperate couples all too ready to believe them...
Stepping into the huge exhibition hall at London's Olympia, I haven't had time to look at my programme guide before I'm approached by a young American woman carrying a clipboard and dressed like an air hostess.
'Hi, good to see you. Are you ready to discuss your fertility options?' she asks, dazzling me with her megawatt smile.
Before I can say anything, she continues: 'We're here today all the way from Connecticut in the U.S. to help people just like you.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
