What Ovulation Means to a Woman Over 35
You’d like to know what is happening in your body during ovulation. Well, as a young woman your body prepares itself every month for a pregnancy. This preparation is the release of an egg from your ovum. Cycles vary from woman to woman but the release of this egg happens about mid-cycle; or about 14 days into your cycle.
This egg comes from one ovary this month and your other ovary the next month with the egg traveling down your fallopian tube and into your womb. If this egg isn’t fertilized by sperm, the egg is shed with your womb lining during your period.
A fertility fact to know is that your chances of getting pregnant at twenty are double the chances of a woman in her thirties getting pregnant. It will take you possibly 12 months to conceive, even if you are healthy and in your thirties.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
